La Piedra

The Garden La Piedra (the rock) is named after the large piece of foundation of the building that used to stand on the lot, and still sticks up from one of the plots. With flowers and cilantro planted around it and dedicated gardeners, this garden has won many awards for being one of the most beautiful gardens in the city.

This garden also has a covered seating area where many of the gardeners sit after a long day to rest, exchange stories and trade seeds.

This is one of the oldest community gardens in Holyoke as well, and has had some of its members for up to 15 years.
