Nuestras Raices welcomes socially disadvantaged beginner farmers to join us for the first Nuestros Finqueros Training Enterprises workshop of 2022!

The Planting Considerations workshop will demonstrate methods of soil improvement and weed control during Spring planting. Interested parties can find an online application here, or visit 329 Main St, Holyoke, MA to fill out an application in person. With support from UMass Amherst Extension and the USDA, Nuestras Raices’ Nuestros Finqueros Training Enterprises program aims to provide socially disadvantaged beginner farmers with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to launch or support an agricultural career. Low-income individuals, elders, at-risk youth, veterans, and BIPOC are encouraged to apply. All workshops and materials will be provided in English and Spanish. The program will host 10-15 workshops from April ’22 to October ’22.
